 NEW YORK ♔ THE PUPPETEER american order | subconscious coercion There isn't that much about Jimmy Steinbeck's background that is particularly unusual. Born and bred in Manhattan, only child to well-off parents, and given the best education possible, Jimmy went into advertising (not quite what his parents wanted, but hey). As it turned out, Jimmy had a knack for the field. A magician with words and extremely persuasive so long as he put his mind to it, he was plucked by the Order and given the power of subconscious coercion, making him able to manipulate thoughts, plant ideas, and, in essence, drive a person crazy. Paired with Newark, whose realm of power lies in motor control, it's only together that their powers are completely effective. At the end of the day, Jimmy is not a nice person. The quicker things can get done, the better, and if that means the occasional bull in a chinashop approach, then so be it. Generally acerbic and straight-laced, he is not so much distrustful as misanthropic; Newark is one of the only people he deigns to be around for more than a handful of minutes at a time. |
